What happened?

On or around June 23, 2024, Excelsior detected unusual activity on its network and identified a data security incident. The company disconnected external access, isolated affected equipment, and changed network credentials. They also hired a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate the intrusion. This investigation confirmed that the data breach compromised employee information on Excelsior’s servers, including data from Buffalo Surgery Center employees. The compromised information includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, non-driver IDs, and biometric data. Up to 357,000 individuals have been affected by this data breach.
